How does Video E-Mail Work...??
One of the most common questions I am asked is: How does Video E-Mail work?
Well, until recently, if you wanted to send video through the e-mail, you had to:
(1) Buy a webcam (normally around 40.00 US for a decent one)
(2) Record and save the MPEG or AVI file to your computer
(3) Attach the file to an e-mail
(4) Send to whom ever you wish
But problems that arise from the past are:
(1) Video files are extremely large files
(2) They have to be UPLOADED (which takes time depending on size)
(3) They have to be DOWNLOADED (Which takes the same process) by the receipient.
(4) The receiver must have the same program to DECODE the video that you recorded it in (Windows Media Player, QuickTime or RealPlayer to name a few)
The application of Streaming video allows you to record the video through an e-mail client (MyVideoTalk) for instance. Once the file uploads to the e-Mail client server, it is then buffered and compressed.
What the receipient receives is a video email link. When they click on the hyperlink, a new browser window will automatically open and (depending on THEIR connection speed) start playing the video mail IMMEDIATELY.
The receipient does not have to "download" large files to see the video because it streams directly from the e-mail client server. What you get is an easy-to-use "SEE & HEAR" experience rather than the "read me" feeling of regular text e-mails.
The experience is a joy - because you can see distant family, friends or loved ones -- Business associates -- or customers.
